Fuel Switching Grants

Fuel switching relates to changing the primary source for heating your home. Grants have been made available to encourage people to switch from inefficient heating systems such as coal and electric to, greener more efficient systems that run primarily on gas, LPG or oil. The grants are available to anyone with the amounts dependant on a set of criteria. The grants can be up to a value of £1500 with the minimum being £500 for anyone switching from coal or electric to gas, LPG or oil!

Who Qualifies?

Private, residential properties and these are broken down into two groups:

Priority Group Members

All people aged 70 or over

Customers in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • War Disablement Pensin which includes either Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance
  • Disablement Pension which includes Constant Attendance Allowance
  • State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit where relevant annual income is £15,592 or less
  • Working Tax Credit where relevant annual income is £15,592 or less.

Non Priority Group

There is funding available to those who are not Priority Group Members but are changing fuel.
